Rommelmarkt Lokeren

I really liked this flea market/car boot sale and enjoyed almost two hours there! I was worried it would have been small or "too local", but actually I heard other languages being spoken all the time, and the vendors also speak English, for sure to the extent needed to negotiate for a price. :) There were many vendors with their items on the floor, inside boxes and on tables in the parking space just in front of the station, so the market is easily reachable with public transport. Some stalls were selling very old items, clearly from houses' clearance, whereas others were selling their own unwanted objects. There are two cash machines just outside the station, should you need to withdraw (more) cash. Of course, you should be there in the morning, the earliest the better. The flea market is held weekly, on Sunday morning.
